Jean-Philippe Richard

Since 2002, Jean-Philippe Richard, a French sculptor born in Paris in 1947, has been an artist in residence at Daum. His collaboration with the crystal manufacturer has resulted in 24 female sculptures in crystal paste, which have become emblematic of the House's expertise. These works, combining grace, mystery, and elevation, celebrate the essence of femininity in all its diversity. The artist, deeply attached to the female figure, explores through his sculptures the beauty of the suspended moment, inner silence, and gentle strength. He shapes slender silhouettes, with an upright posture, often with closed eyes, as if immersed in intimate contemplation. The crystal then becomes a living material, traversed by light, revealing the delicacy of the gesture and the sensitivity of the form.
