From stage to studio, the 2020 collaboration between internationally renowned percussionist Manu Katché and Daum has given birth to a unique work: the "Blue Note". A true homage to the essence of jazz, this crystal sculpture embodies the imperfect, elusive, yet so expressive note that musicians constantly strive to touch, the famous "blue note".
Through this creation, Manu Katché translates into three dimensions what, until now, only existed in the vibrant air of jazz clubs: raw emotion, absolute freedom, a perpetual quest for a sound that flirts with perfection without ever settling there. With Daum, he has imagined a stylized musical note in a contemporary way, available in black and blue, as a visual echo to the depth and richness of musical language. Limited to 500 pieces, each piece is crafted using Daum's exceptional expertise, a master glassmaker since 1878, to bring this mythical note to life. On a black optical glass base, the note seems to float, suspended in a delicate balance, a symbol of the improvisation and tempo so dear to jazz. The "Timeless" collection invites music lovers and art enthusiasts to celebrate the magical union of rhythm and light, in an object that transcends time and embodies the very spirit of music: unpredictable, moving, and eternal.
