Born in Italy in 1944, Emilio Robba has undeniably revolutionized the world of floral sculpture. During his studies in painting and sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed a true passion for floral art, quickly becoming one of the world's most celebrated icons. His compositions skillfully blend nature, sculpture, and interior design. They are now internationally renowned for their exceptional refinement and striking realism. The artist notably created a series of orchids so detailed they appeared almost real. This collection popularized the "illusion flower" in the luxury sector. To refine his art and make it ever more realistic and poetic, the man who became known as "the floral sculptor" also worked in the United States and Japan, where he studied ikebana. Among his most famous creations, Emilio Robba conceived the "draped vase." This vase first appeared at the Natural History Museum in Paris in 1984, for the orchid exhibition he himself organized. Captivated by the beauty and poetry of his work, the Daum crystalworks had the honor of collaborating with this renowned sculptor on several occasions.
