The floral sculptor honored by Maison Daum
Emilio Robba, born in Italy in 1944, has undeniably revolutionized the world of floral sculpture. During his studies in painting and sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed a true passion for floral art, quickly becoming one of the world's most celebrated icons. His compositions skillfully blend nature, sculpture, and interior design, and are now internationally renowned for their exceptional refinement and striking realism.
The artist is particularly renowned for a series of orchids so meticulously detailed that they appeared almost real, popularizing the "illusion flower" in the luxury sector. Always striving for a more realistic and poetic art, this artist, nicknamed "the floral sculptor," also trained in the United States and Japan, where he studied ikebana. Among his most celebrated creations is the "draped vase," first presented at the Natural History Museum in Paris in 1984 during an orchid exhibition he himself organized. Captivated by the beauty of his work, the Daum crystalworks collaborated with this renowned sculptor on several occasions. Even today, they continue to celebrate the poetry and subtlety of floral art with him through the Borneo collection.
