Creating a Glass Mask

Today, for Daum, the artist Jean Faucheur has decided to give a new perspective to the work "Glass Mask," originally released in 2004 in blue, by adding a new amber color, an iconic color of the crystal manufacturer. Through this color change, he seeks to strengthen his message by questioning the perception we have of a mask, a face, or a silhouette. In this artwork, limited to 75 copies, the artist plays with shapes as if with paper; the face is formed of folds where the absence of detail excites our perception and recognition of a face.

As contemporary as it is timeless, thanks to the artistic gesture of Jean Faucheur, this work of art questions and forces us to rethink our codes. A visionary, the artist plays with crystal paste to mold it like a supple material and create a trompe-l'oeil effect.
