Joy and color as a manifesto

Pop Art

Daum's partner artists reinvent materials with boldness and creativity: crystal, a noble and iconic material, becomes a playing surface, a mirror of society, a spark of life. Through daring forms that defy conventions, vibrant hues that capture light and attention, and almost musical volumes that seem to vibrate in space, each sculpture embodies the vitality of the modern world and celebrates the freedom of expression dear to the Pop movement. By combining exceptional artisanal craftsmanship with a rich and dynamic popular culture, Daum redefines the boundaries between art and design, between elegance and exuberance, offering a vision where innovation dialogues with tradition. Daum's Pop Art thus establishes itself as a true celebration of joy, creativity, and the mischievous gaze that art brings to life, in all its richness, diversity, and energy.

Yves Henry

French designer, artist, and animal lover, Yves Henry brings a joyful and irreverent touch to Maison Daum. His world, nourished by pop art and childhood, transforms familiar objects and figures into brightly colored sculptures, where humor meets tenderness. In 2023, with Wally the Kangaroo , the artist revisits the iconography of the kangaroo in a playful and expressive version. Molded in an intense blue crystal paste and punctuated with gold leaf details, this character with a mischievous look embodies the artist's playful and free spirit. It evokes the stuffed animals of our childhood, cartoons, and modern fables.

Richard Orlinski x Daum

The meeting between Daum and Arman dates back to the end of the 20th century; together they embody a bold dialogue between glassmaking tradition and contemporary art. A major figure of Nouveau Réalisme, Arman is recognized for his iconic works based on the accumulation, fragmentation, and recomposition of objects. By associating himself with the Daum crystal factory, he transcends his artistic gesture and the brand's feminine universe through crystal paste, a living and vibrant material by essence.

This collaboration resulted in more than 7 exceptional works, including "The Soul of Venus" and "Tranchitude," modern and powerful interpretations of the Venus de Milo. These works symbolize the duality between classical beauty and a contemporary vision, between permanence and fragmentation. Colored crystal blends with patinated bronze or solid silver in a striking play of contrasts, reinterpreting the canons of ancient statuary through the lens of Arman's plastic language.

Each sculpture thus becomes a visual manifesto: memory in fragments, recomposed beauty, reinvented heritage. Together they interpret the innovative principle of cutting, which has become, over time, a signature of this genius of the genre. Through this collaboration, Daum extends its role as a patron of great names in art, offering their works a new breath, both sensual, sculptural and timeless.

The "Daumot 163" robot: when crystal brings painting to life.

Kriki & Daum

In 2017, Daum partnered with the iconic artist Kriki for a unique collaboration, where the exuberant world of Street Art meets the centuries-old expertise of crystal. For the first time, the iconic robot born from Kriki's famous paintings, "Fuzz," comes to life in three dimensions, crystallized in a striking sculpture: "Daumot 163".

Kriki x Daum

Until now confined to canvas, the half-robot, half-fetish character, the artist's signature since 1985, comes to life in crystal thanks to the magic of Daum's master glassmakers. With its faceted lines, playful silhouette and gold-plated brass details, "Daumot 163" embodies the transition from 2D artwork to a strong and contemporary sculptural presence, paying homage to Figuration Libre and the energy of the Street Art movement. Figuration Libre , an artistic movement that emerged in France in the early 1980s, blends the spontaneity of graffiti, the energy of punk, pop culture, comics and street art.

The robot "Daumot 163"

Each movement, each era, becomes a source of inspiration that the manufactory captures and reinvents, with audacity and finesse. Between Lorraine glassmaking tradition and avant-garde creation, Daum shapes a unique aesthetic language, always in resonance with its time . A true explosion of color, energy, and humor, the Pop Art works in collaboration with Daum pay homage to a movement that transformed the perception of art in the 20th century.
