ART

Since its founding in 1878, Maison Daum has distinguished itself as an exceptional crystal manufacturer by collaborating with contemporary French and international artists and designers.

Contemporary Art

Laurence Bonnel

With Daum, Laurence Bonnel translates her architectural and poetic universe into the world of feminine art, but not only in crystal glass. Works such as "Tenderness , " "Departure , " "The Return , " "Evidence," and "Alone in the World" celebrate the human presence in its purest expression. Each sculpture, through its verticality, evokes a being in motion, a couple reunited, or a soul detaching itself, between earthly grounding and aspiration to something beyond.

POP ART

In 2023, with Kangourou Wally , the artist revisits the iconography of the kangaroo in a playful and expressive version. Molded in a crystal paste of intense blue and punctuated with gold leaf details, this character with a mischievous look embodies the playful and free spirit of the artist. It evokes the stuffed animals of our childhood, cartoons, and modern fables.

The collaboration between Daum and Yves Henry gives birth to a work that subverts the codes of luxury, while magnifying the traditional craftsmanship of the crystal factory. The precious material here embraces a light, accessible and deeply human imagination, where each detail tells a story full of tenderness and mischief.

Animal Art

Isabelle Carabantes

With Daum, Isabelle Carabantes elevates the brand's legacy and revolutionizes animal art with her creations. In crystal glass, the works come alive, their translucent nuances and interplay of light amplifying the sensitive dimension of her subjects. From the powerful gaze of the caracal head to the bust of Cogito, the gentle thinking chimpanzee, heir to Rodin's influences, and the elephants of the savannah, each piece questions the link between humanity and animals, between nature and memory.

AFRICAN ART

Romuald Hazoumé x Daum

A major Beninese artist on the contemporary African scene, Romuald Hazoumé is internationally recognized for his masks made from repurposed gasoline canisters, which have become symbols of resistance, memory, and denunciation of the trafficking that plagues West Africa. In a unique encounter between committed art and ancestral know-how, Maison Daum invited Hazoumé in 2008 to reinterpret his iconic work , *Blue Oil Head* , in crystal glass. Sculpted in the transparency and vibrant nuances of the material, this contemporary mask carries a profound resonance. It echoes traditional African faces while embodying social critique: that of the artisanal gasoline trafficking, a daily reality for millions of Beninese.

Street art

JonOne x Daum

In 2020, Maison Daum forged a bold new encounter between urban art and crystal tradition by collaborating with renowned New York artist JonOne. From this union emerged a rare and unique piece: Table for Two , a functional artwork produced in a limited edition of only eight. Each table is hand-personalized by the artist, who directly applied his iconic tag to the extra-white glass top. True to his energetic and colorful style, JonOne unfolds his vibrant and spontaneous universe, capturing the essence of the “abstract expressionist tag” he pioneered. This raw and instinctive gesture is then solidified by the application of a layer of Daum crystal paste, lending the work a luminous depth and a unique materiality. The layering of glass, tag, and crystal transforms this table into a contemporary sculpture in its own right, where the urban converses with the ancestral, and where light reveals the subtleties of the artistic gesture at every angle.
