Contemporary art is the audacity of a gesture that shakes things up, the freedom of a form that escapes codes, the brilliance of a material that captures light like no other.

Creative freedom and shards of crystal

Contemporary art

Born from a desire to push the boundaries of expression, contemporary art frees itself from established rules to explore new aesthetic territories. It thrives on contrasts, unexpected encounters, and experiments that bring materials, textures, and ideas into dialogue. In crystal, it becomes an art of light and color, where each creation embodies a suspended emotion. In the Daum Contemporary Art collection, the diversity of the works reflects the richness of this movement. Punky Fish Blanc & Or by Patrick Rougereau captures the delicate movement of a fish, immortalized in crystalline transparency punctuated by golden touches. Daumot 163 by Kriki dares to use an electric, intense, and vibrant blue, enhanced by golden details that catch the eye. The Zigzag Vases by Victoria Wilmotte explore the architectural rigor of lines and the strength of colors—vibrant green, mineral gray, deep blue—to give birth to dynamic volumes. More monumental, Table pour deux by JonOne is an explosion of urban colors frozen in crystal, like a fragment of a contemporary fresco.

Laurence Bonnel

With Daum, Laurence Bonnel transposes her architectural and poetic universe into the world of feminine art, but not only in crystal paste. Works such as "Tenderness," "Departure , " "The Return , " "Evidence," or "Alone in the World" celebrate the human presence in its purest expression. Each sculpture, through its verticality, evokes a being in motion, a couple reunited, or a soul detaching itself, between earthly grounding and aspiration to elsewhere.

Daum x Arman

The meeting between Daum and Arman dates back to the end of the 20th century; together they embody a bold dialogue between glassmaking tradition and contemporary art. A major figure of Nouveau Réalisme, Arman is recognized for his iconic works based on the accumulation, fragmentation, and recomposition of objects. By associating himself with the Daum crystal factory, he transcends his artistic gesture and the brand's feminine universe through crystal paste, a living and vibrant material by essence.

This collaboration resulted in more than 7 exceptional works, including "The Soul of Venus" and "Tranchitude," modern and powerful interpretations of the Venus de Milo. These works symbolize the duality between classical beauty and a contemporary vision, between permanence and fragmentation. Colored crystal blends with patinated bronze or solid silver in a striking play of contrasts, reinterpreting the canons of ancient statuary through the lens of Arman's plastic language.

A continuous dialogue between feminine grace and crystalline light.

M Paule Deville-Chabrolle by Daum

Since 2005, Daum has collaborated with the French painter and sculptor Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle, whose work pays homage to the female body and its memories in all their gentleness, dignity, and inner strength. Through her sculptures, which stem from a contemporary figurative movement, the artist captures the moment of a gesture, the contemplation of a soul, the poetry of silence in her daughter's body. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Pau and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Phnom Penh, Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle infuses her creations with a meditative aura, imbued with an aesthetic that is both classic and contemporary. The collaboration with Daum allows this unique artistic sensibility to come to life in crystal paste, a noble material that enhances movement and light. Over time, this collaboration has intensified, resulting in more than 21 works. Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle is a true artist in residence at Daum. Together, they have created a collection of remarkable works, including *À Cœur Battant *, *Les 7 Perles *, * Kabuki* , and *L'Hiver en soi* , each telling a story of femininity, mystery, and transcendence.

ETIENNE

Daum has always celebrated artists whose work transcends matter to evoke the soul. It is in this spirit that the collaboration with sculptor Étienne began in 2004. His contemporary style, imbued with symbols, peace, and gentleness, finds a natural resonance in crystal glass through three works of art: Dove, Tenderness, and Thought of Love.

Born in Grenoble in 1962, Étienne is an artist with a rare sensitivity, who draws his inspiration from the world of childhood, dreams and universal emotions. His sculptures, full of tenderness and poetry, address themes such as love, introspection and the quest for simplicity.
