In 2017, Daum partnered with the iconic artist Kriki for a unique collaboration, where the exuberant world of Street Art meets the centuries-old craftsmanship of crystal. For the first time, the iconic robot born from Kriki's famous paintings, "Fuzz," comes to life in three dimensions, crystallized in a striking sculpture: "Daumot 163".
Until now confined to canvas, the half-robot, half-fetish character, the artist's signature since 1985, comes to life in crystal thanks to the magic of Daum's master glassmakers. With its faceted lines, playful silhouette and golden brass details, "Daumot 163" embodies the transition from 2D artwork to a strong and contemporary sculptural presence, paying homage to Figuration Libre and the energy of the Street Art movement. Figuration Libre , an artistic movement that emerged in France in the early 1980s, blends the spontaneity of graffiti, the energy of punk, pop culture, comics and street art. Edited in only 99 copies, this intense blue robot, inhabited by a golden mechanism, becomes an artistic manifesto celebrating the meeting between urban creativity and French craftsmanship excellence. With this creation, Kriki and Daum sign a unique dialogue between modernity and tradition, and invite collectors and art lovers to discover an icon of contemporary painting in a new light, shining with brilliance.
