Daum vases: sculpted in the living spirit of nature

At Daum, it also becomes sculpture. For nearly 150 years, our Nancy-based Maison has elevated crystal paste to the level of a language, where subtle shades, delicate transparencies, and refined gradations compose vases that define a style as much as they hold flowers. The Tulip vases (ultraviolet, amber, red) unfold pleated petals whose lip flares out like a corolla in full breath.
The Ginkgo (green, amber) vases open like fans, their veins guiding the brilliance from the neck to the base. The Camellia (small purple, small pink) showcase a gadrooned texture and a satiny depth. The midnight blue Arum (small size) presents a slender, almost architectural silhouette. These iconic pieces are complemented by creations with a sunny temperament, such as Citrus and Saffron , as well as centerpieces like the Exotic Peacock Flower .

A bold and assertive color palette

She explores deep ultraviolet , honeyed amber , ruby red , celadon green , and midnight blue . Solid colors interact with frosted areas, velvety satin finishes, and mirror polishes. The formats, ranging from mini to magnum , including small, medium, and large models , adapt to various spaces, perfect for a niche, console, or coffee table without ever being visually overwhelming.

Each vase by Daum is conceived as a volume of light:

The belly holds, the lip releases, the base anchors. Flowery or not, its silhouette is enough to adorn the space.

The glassmaking expertise of the Daum crystal factory

The secret to this alchemy lies in a chain of precise gestures.
It all starts with modeling and creating a mold .
Next comes the lost wax process : a positive is made of wax, it is wrapped in a refractory shell, then the wax is replaced with crystal paste (glass fillers and coloring oxides) before melting in the kiln.
The long, controlled annealing and cooling time guarantees the absence of stresses.

After demolding, the "cold" work begins: deburring , shaping , neck lapping , hand polishing , sometimes satin finishing or sandblasting to play the matte/glossy contrast.
Some works receive discreet metallic highlights , accentuating an edge or a rib.
This demanding process explains these shifting transparencies , these opalescences , these deep shades impossible to obtain in standard production.

In the workshops, the eye calibrates the shade , the hand adjusts the curve , the flame awakens the brilliance .
The vase then becomes more than a container: a glass sculpture where the material retains traces of fire, time, and gesture.

Choosing a Daum vase means welcoming a fragment of know-how and a burst of light into your home.

Whether it receives a bouquet of flowers or stands alone, each vase structures the space , captures the gaze and creates a soothing atmosphere .
A true work of art, crafted to transcend seasons and styles.
