How to maintain the shine of Daum pieces?
We recommend that you maintain your Daum products with a soft, dry cloth, such as microfiber, especially without adding water, detergent or maintenance products.
In the case of clumped dust, we recommend:
Wash with clean, lukewarm water, without detergent.
24-hour drying time
Apply liquid wax with a brush or spray from the Daum care kit, then allow to dry again.
Buffing with a soft, lint-free cloth
If the piece contains parts made of bronze or other metal, it is best not to wet them, and simply dust them off and then polish them with a soft cloth.
Regarding usage recommendations, we advise the following points:
Do not place the part outdoors, or if you must, place it in a sheltered spot away from sunlight and inclement weather.

Are DAUM products Made in France?
All Daum crystal is manufactured at our sites in Vannes-le-Châtel and Nancy located in Eastern France.
Are all Daum products available on the e-shop?
No, the size of the Daum collections does not allow us to be exhaustive on our website.
Furthermore, as some parts are particularly heavy, it will not be possible to order them online.
Finally, as many pieces are in limited editions, only pieces whose numbers (editions) are available can be offered.
However, we invite our customers to visit one of our points of sale or to contact them in order to obtain the information they are looking for and/or to purchase a piece that is not available on the e-shop of the website www.daum.fr.
Is the Daum family still in charge of the company?
The last leader belonging to the Daum family was Jacques Daum. He succeeded Michèle Daum in 1965 and presided over the company's destiny for more than twenty years.
The Daum family is still represented among the minority shareholders of the company and is thus present at the General Meetings.
Is the House of DAUM truly at the origin of Art Nouveau?
The House of Daum is recognized as one of the key players in the Art Nouveau style, actively participating in the artistic movement of the Nancy School, alongside renowned artists such as Emile Gallé, Louis Majorelle, and Jacques Gruber. This school brought the refinements of Art Nouveau to their ultimate expression in all areas: architecture, furniture, and more.
The 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition awarded Daum a grand prize and brought him international renown. An innovator, Daum was the first to encase electric light in glass.
Are all DAUM products handmade or is there an industrial production line?
Each Daum piece is a unique piece, the result of an artisanal manufacturing process, entirely handmade, following the pâte de verre technique, applied to crystal.
Why do you only sell certain pieces in quantities of 8?
The edition of a piece in 8 copies corresponds to a regulated practice in the world of Art.
In art or design, the original work may exist in several copies, generally numbered and signed by the artist: none is unique, but each copy is the work, all being identical. This practice, initiated by sculptors with castings, has been adopted more broadly in art and is enshrined in tax law.
Can I order personalized products?
Daum carries out special projects around the world for numerous clients: individuals, architects, decorators, luxury hotels…
Daum's expertise and manufacturing techniques allow for the creation of special projects, overseen by dedicated teams. However, for certain collaborative works, the artist's approval will be essential for the completion of a special order.
You can submit your special business request to one of our stores or authorized resellers.
Given the difficulties in implementing and managing our collections, we reserve the right to refuse such requests without explanation.
We cannot offer the use of our tools, ovens and molds for individual requests.
Can I have a piece appraised at DAUM?
DAUM cannot evaluate the collector's items of products created by the Manufacture.
DAUM can only possibly attest to the manufacture, marketing and signature of the product with regard to all of the DAUM collections and the numerous archives at its disposal.
DAUM can only provide the public price values of the products in its catalogues, however this has no expert value.
Only a certified expert or auditor can provide financial valuations for products not listed in current catalogs. These experts and auditors can easily be found through internet search engines.
Can I have products sold on the website delivered outside of France?
No, it is not yet possible to have orders delivered outside of France for any order placed via the eshop of the website www.daum.fr.
However, for any order placed via the usual distribution channel (i.e. shops, corners, resellers, distributors, agents, sales representatives), DAUM can deliver anywhere in the world.
What does "glass paste" and/or "crystal paste" mean?
Glass paste is a rare and ancient glass technique that dates back to antiquity: Through a process of foundry and lost-wax molding, this artisanal technique allows the creation of sculptural pieces.
Daum rediscovered it in 1968, reworking it with crystal. This unique expertise is still practiced today by the finest glassmakers.
This artisanal technique ensures a very particular material finish, impossible to achieve with traditional blown crystal. Brilliance, intensity, color nuances, and bubbles are the hallmarks of Daum crystal paste pieces.
