Dan Dailey, a major figure in the contemporary glass art movement in the United States, has collaborated with Daum since the 1980s on sculptural works with sensual and dreamlike accents. Born in Philadelphia in 1947, trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and a professor at the Massachusetts College of Art, Dan Dailey develops a rich and abundant universe, full of symbols, colors, and emotions. With *Le Soleil* (The Sun) , an emblematic piece of this collaboration, Dailey expresses the full warmth of his style. This sculpture of a reclining woman, bathed in golden light, embodies a radiant, voluptuous, and serene femininity, an ode to light, gentleness, and the pleasure of existence. Through the prism of crystal paste, a material he explores for the first time with Daum, the artist captures the very essence of light and the body.
