Animal sculptures: nature sublimated by crystal

Thesesculptures animal-relateddo not reproduce nature: they reinvent it, by infusing poetry and movement. Each creation becomes a wild fragment.
tamed, ready to inhabit our interiors like a timeless talisman.

Whether powerful or delicate, Daum's animal sculptures capture the interplay between the rigor of modeling and the fluidity of color. The crystal glass perfectly captures veins, coats, and plumage with almost organic precision, bringing to life forms imbued with shimmering reflections.

In the equestrian collection, the "Fierce Horse" and the "Cavalcade" capture the speed and energy of the gallop, their sinuous lines seeming to surge out of the material. The " Florida Panther ," a deep amber, asserts its feline power in a tense posture, ideal for adorning a contemporary console. With the " Savannah Elephant ," the amber and gold tones evoke the warmth of the African lands, bringing an atmosphere of travel and majesty to a living room.

More fluid, the marine sculptures such as the Maya Dolphins or the Emperor Swordfish evoke aquatic movement, their bluish hues shimmering in the daylight. Some creations even flirt with myth: a translucent unicorn , with pinkish hues, invites daydreaming and naturally finds its place in a bedroom or intimate space.

Placed in an interior, these works become strong visual focal points. On a dark wood console, a panther embodies contained power, while in the center of a coffee table, a blue dolphin creates a luminous focal point that instantly attracts the eye. In a modern bookcase, a stylized horse stands out among the books like an artistic wink, and in an elegant entrance hall, an amber elephant imposes an atmosphere of prestige from the first step taken.

Their strength also lies in their ability to interact with the seasons: in summer , the amber tones ignite under the sun, bringing warmth and intensity. In autumn , the fawn and golden hues resonate with the falling leaves and enhance the conviviality of the space. In winter , the deep blues or frosty grays create an almost meditative serenity, ideal for an office or library. Finally, in spring , an animal sculpture in verdant tones seems to be reborn with nature, spreading freshness and vitality throughout the home.

Daum Crystal: An ancestral know-how that brings light back to life.

Since the end of the 19th century, the Daum Manufacture has established itself as one of the greatest glassmaking workshops in the world. Mastering crystal paste and the rare lost-wax casting technique, it meticulously reveals the folds of a wing, the tension of a muscle, or the curve of a fin. The extended process—melting, annealing, polishing, satin finishing—allows for the creation of color gradients impossible to reproduce in industrial production.

Rooted in the history of Art Nouveau , the House has always fostered a dialogue between Flora, Fauna, and Woman – the famous 3Fs that make up its identity. In the 1920s, it opened itself to Art Deco and the feminine world, enriching its artistic vocabulary. Even today, its workshops collaborate with contemporary sculptors and designers, who offer a fresh perspective on animals and their symbolism.

The uniqueness of Daum lies in its art of gradation, its iridescence and transparency, which give every animal sculpture a vibrant intensity. No other crystal manufacturer masters color with such freedom: each creation becomes a French signature, a living legacy of artistic heritage.
