Isabelle Carabantes' story begins with a double passion: working with clay and animals. Isabelle lives and works in Fontainebleau, France. She learned sculpting at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she studied modeling from live models, a practice she later abandoned to dedicate herself primarily to animal sculpture.

This is the case with Le Cogito, which is not Descartes' Cogito, but rather born from reading a book on metacognition—the study of knowing about knowing—conducted on great apes.
