In 2013, Daum partnered with one of the leading figures of Japanese haute couture, Madame Hanae Mori, to create an exceptional crystal work: the Butterfly Vase. A true symbol of her world, the butterfly has always embodied the elegance, lightness, and metamorphosis dear to the designer. By joining forces with the Lorraine manufacturer, she transposes her emblem into the eternity of crystal. The first Asian woman member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne, Hanae Mori built her style around a subtle dialogue between Japanese tradition and Western modernity. Fascinated by the world of creation since childhood, she celebrates in each of her works the delicacy of the kimono, the finesse of gesture, and the grace of a movement suspended in time.
The collaboration with Daum crystallizes this vision: the Soliflore Papillon is a pivotal sculpture, a harmonious fusion between East and West. The transparencies and shimmering nuances of the crystal glass, worked with virtuosity, capture the breath of a butterfly in flight, a poetic metaphor for ephemeral beauty made eternal.
Limited to 75 pieces, this exceptional piece embodies the meeting of two houses with rare know-how, united by a commitment to excellence, poetry, and the art of enhancing nature.
