Collaborations THE ARTISTS
MAISON DAUM
The pâte de verre technique is rare and very ancient. This technique dates back to 5000 BC (examples have been found in the tombs of pharaohs). Long forgotten, it was rediscovered by Daum in 1900 and then reworked in 1968. The process is extremely delicate to handle. The pieces obtained by this fusion of pieces of crystal mixed in a mold possess a grain, a texture, and a softness of contours that cannot be obtained with blown glass.
A unique expertise
Daum , the House of Light and Color, embodies boundless creativity and unique craftsmanship. Born from earth, sand, and minerals, Daum Crystal fuses in the fire to transform into spectacular objects: interior pieces, objets d'art, and jewelry. The House continually reinvents itself through sculptural creations that reveal the beauty of women, fauna, and flora. From the École de Nancy to the École des Arts Décoratifs, from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, Daum has reinvented itself over time. More than 350 collaborations have shaped the manufacture's creations, with artistic icons such as Majorelle, Dalí, Arman, and César, as well as Villeglé, Etienne, Texier, and leading names in design like Tallon, McConnico, Massaud, and Ghion. Daum has embraced every magical encounter between artistic creation and modern craftsmanship, perpetually perpetuating the marriage of art and craftsmanship.
